The Home Builders Association of Northeast Louisiana is a nonprofit trade association founded in 1955. We represent over 300 homebuilding professionals, contractors, and industry affiliates across 13 parishes in Northeast Louisiana. Our mission is to provide educational resources, networking events, advocacy, and support for builders and consumers. Join us in making a difference by becoming a part of our community.
A Solid Business Investment - benefits of three memberships in one! Local, State, and National. When you join Home Builders Association of Northeast Louisiana, you automatically become a member of Louisiana Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders and enjoy the benefits of all three organizations. As a member of all three organizations, you receive HBA of NELA's Builder Times, LHBA's Louisiana Builder Magazine, and NHBA's Builder Magazine. Members also have access to the websites of the local, state, and national associations.

Louisiana Home Builders SIF - One of the important benefits of membership in your HBA is your eligibility to participate in the Self Insurers Fund (SIF), Louisiana's premier workers compensation fund available only to HBA of NELA members. Many of our members report that the savings through the SIF program more than pay for their membership in the association.

Annual Home Show - As a member of the association you are eligible to market your company's products and services by exhibiting at the annual Home Show. For more than a quarter of a century the Home Show has continued to grow in popularity among our members and the consumer public. The most recent Home Show drew more than 1300 paid visitors (not including children) and nearly 100 exhibitors. Many of our members say the Home Show is their most effective way to reach their potential customers to showcase their services and products.

Continuing Education - Your HBA offers a regular schedule of speakers who are specialists in their fields, who convey important and timely seminars on topics aimed at improving your business. As a member you may receive Continuing Education credits at no charge to meet requirements for contractor license renewals.

These events offer a great way to connect with fellow members while taking a break from the day-to-day grind. Regular membership meetings, the Home Show Preview Banquet, the annual crawfish boil, and the HBA golf tournament are just a few examples.

Legislative Involvement and Representation - Your HBA uses the collective voice and influence of its members to work effectively with local, state, and national officials. Members become actively involved in such issues as the Ouachita Parish Land Use Commission, builder licensing requirements, voting records of legislators, and influencing the passage or defeat of legislation that affects our industry. The association and its members participate in the annual Legislative Day sponsored by the Louisiana Home Builders Association. The event provides the perfect environment to meet state legislators and voice your opinions about legislation before them, or to propose new legislation to improve our industry.
